We all have our unique style when it comes to our homes. Some people love filling their homes with plants, while others want an open bright airy space. It is recommended that you have a decent idea of your style and what type of design you are after, thus being easier to settle on your design.
Sometimes on a knockdown rebuild home, the land can be hard to work on with trees, pools or sheds that you want to keep, sometimes the council has certain rules about what you can and can’t remove.
It is important to be realistic about the size of the home you are after, along with what will actually fit, if you aren’t sure think of the following;
How many beds do I need? This is not just for now, but for the future too. If you have parents who may move in, do you have pets that need a backyard? consider an additional ensuite to a minor bed. Remember that one day you may have a bigger family, and an extra bedroom could be incredibly useful. If you are looking at a double-storey home, also consider futureproofing by adding a bedroom downstairs.
Do you entertain a lot? if so, consider including an alfresco this allows you to bring the party outside on those beautiful summer afternoons. Also consider if oven towers, a butler’s pantry, or even a full second kitchen in your pantry would be helpful for your needs.
Do I have any absolute musts in my home? For some customers, a theatre is a must, as they are movie lovers and want a space to enjoy without waking up the entire house. If you ever work from home, an office or study could also be vital.
Make sure you have these design musts when you meet with your Dulger Homes consultant, as this will have a major impact on the designs that any new home sales consultants will show you.
